VHA members consist of past and present rotary wing pilots who have previously or are currently flying helicopters, powered lift, tilt-rotor, and gyrocopters. We also welcome rotary wing student pilots and those who are rotary wing enthusiasts or those who are simply curious about helicopters and their operation. It is not a requirement that you own one of these aircraft.

We also welcome rotary wing mechanics and managers who oversee repairs of these aircraft, from whom we often draw technical expertise.

The VHA also welcomes unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) or drone pilots with whom we sometimes share the same airspace.
